Groups will only have about 20 minutes to work on the Children’s literature assignment.  Although the due date has been moved to Monday, October 31, tomorrow will be the last time groups will have class time for these projects.

We will be starting short stories tomorrow!

Today we discussed our new class room policies and rules for our classroom.

Today we did a review of our short story unit.  Tomorrow we will be having a test on short stories.

Today we worked on our Children’s Literature assignment.

Groups need to come to class tomorrow ready to share with me how they used their time today and how they will use their time tomorrow.   Tentitive due date is Thursday, October 27.

Pop quiz on the first sections of “A Rose for Emily” 

Also, tomorrow students will be asked to fill in a questionnaire describing their role in our day-to-day class and identifying problems within our class.  Classes are being disrupted with interruptions, cell phones, and disengaged behaviour.  Our classroom goal is to repair these issues.

Writing 521

Today we covered some common grammar/mechanical usuage problems.  Tomorrow you will be working in groups to find a way to explain some of these mistakes to our classmates without using too jargon (a word one group will be covering)

For half of our class tomorrow we will be listening to, and asking questions of a representive from Mount St.Vincent University.

 

English 531

Today we read “One Mile of Ice” by Hugh Garner .  There were questions and vocabulary match ups to work on after.   All questions, work sheets and vocabulary sheets will be taken in and marked as “in class assignments”
