IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR Writing 521

All portfolio interviews that were scheduled for this afternoon (Friday) will be resheduled for the exact same appointment time but on Tuesday, January 31. 

All interviews that were scheduled for Monday or Tuesday morning will remain as planned.

Example if you were scheduled to interview today at 1:00 pm, you will now interview on Tuesday at 1:00 pm.

Today we are beginning to discuss Play writing.    We will discuss Elements of Poetry, this powerpoint is posted under pages.  We will be working on 2 inclass assignments: 1 on dramatic action and consequence and 1 on “What if”

Today we wrote a journal on a topic of your choice, but it needed to be in the style of a stream of consciousness.  We read two examples of stream of consciousness in fiction: an excerpt from On the Road by Kerouac and “Mark on the Wall” by Virginia Wolfe.  Tomorrow we will write a short fiction piece in this style.
